An Australian woman who bought a handful of scratch-off lottery tickets to put in her Christmas card ended up with one ticket left over.
And guess what?
Lucky for her – that one ticket that was left won her more than $7,000!
The Edgeworth, New South Wales, woman told the Lott officials that she bought a few scratch-off tickets from the Edgeworth Newsagency to put into Christmas cards for her friends to surprise them. After she had sealed the last card, she realized she was left with one lottery ticket. “I thought I may as well keep it for myself,” the woman recalled.
The player scratched off the ticket and revealed that it was a $7,765.45 top prize winner!
I don’t know about you, but that is what good luck looks like to me!
Imagine buying a bunch of lottery tickets for your friends on Christmas and you are left with the one that wins you $7,000 – that would be my Christmas gift from the universe!
“I was dumbfounded,” she said. “I was so excited. I couldn’t believe it. I just sat there completely stunned.”
The woman said that the ticket very nearly became someone else’s good fortune. “I could have easily put the ticket in someone’s Christmas card. I felt as though it was really meant to be for me.”
It surely was meant for her. You know what they say; what is yours will always find a way to you. And would you look at how this big prize made its way to her!
The winner said her plans for the winnings include taking a vacation to South Australia and sharing with her granddaughter.

Next time I plan on getting lottery tickets for my friends in their Christmas cards, I am going to make sure I get myself a lottery ticket too, and, fingers crossed, I get lucky like this woman!
